Saatchi Art - Art Advisory Service

Assignment

Create a visually arresting page that communicates how easy it is for anyone to get expert advice from professional and pedigreed art curators. Purchasing original art can be intimidating for the novice art buyer, so the content should be friendly yet still formal in order to communicate the curators’ fine art expertise.

Execution

I worked with designers to create discrete content sections to: 1) explain how buying original works from Saatchi Art was painless, affordable, and risk free 2) Saatchi Art is the only gallery to provide this service free of charge 3) showcase both the expertise and approachability of the curators.

Ticketmaster Event Review Direct Response Emails

Assignment

When Ticketmaster rolled out their website's "Post A Review" feature, they needed a way to spread the word.  I was given the job of creating targeted emails encouraging past ticket buyers to post reviews of the event they attended.

Execution

I wrote three emails, one genre-specific and one generic, encouraging fans to "voice their thoughts" by posting an event review on Ticketmaster.com. Each email was tailored, both in tone and design, to the type of event attended (e.g. pop & rock; musical theater; etc.).

Saatchi Art New User Account Welcome Email

Editorial Blurbs

Crash iOS App (Now Fotospot)

Assignment:

Write copy for a local attraction-discovery/social-networking iPhone app that helps people easily locate places of interest nearby (e.g. museums, street art, famous filming locations, landmarks, etc.). Users can check in, leave photos and comments, and share which attractions they've "crashed" with friends in their network. The client requested that the copy be written with an insider "attitude" and that it shouldn't read like your run-of-the-mill tourist guide.

Execution:

I used a humorous tone that didn’t talk down to users, but, rather, assumed that they were already familiar with the area and the pop culture references. The client responded enthusiastically and asked me to author the copywriting best practices guide that was used by all other writers.

 Ticketmaster.com Artist SEO Biographies

Assignment

Write short artist bios for Ticketmaster.com that: 1) provide background history and a description of the act's live shows  2) include SEO keywords/phrases (e.g. "<Artist> Tickets", "live," "concert," "tour," and album/song titles.

Execution

Consistent with Ticketmaster's established brand voice, I wrote artist bios in a conversational tone to drum up excitement for the act's upcoming shows. My average output was five artist bios per day working part time.

Hey Hawaii - Tourist Attraction Descriptions

Assignment

Heyhawaii.com is a photo blog/tourism information site showcasing over 200 attractions in the Hawaiian Islands. I was given the job of researching and then writing 100-word blurbs describing the location and providing useful tips for travelers.

Execution

I knew from previous experience that the client favored casual, conversational copy--so that's what I delivered. While researching, I pulled together information from official websites, tourism sites, and user review sites (i.e. Yelp and Trip Advisor) to arrive at a balanced view of the attractions. Typical output: ten blurbs per day.
